Will your hair and makeup style suit me?
My hair and makeup style is enhancing natural beauty to achieve an effortlessly chic and beautiful finish. Your hair and makeup will be tailored to suit you. I enjoy creating beautiful makeup with a sophisticated finish and effortlessly, polished hair styles, be it a more relaxed version or a more glamorous one. I like to keep up with modern trends, as well as the classics and while I can appreciate the beauty and creativity of big boho styles, I would say my style is more modern. If you were after a big undone braid, for example, then there are many talented artists better suited to this. If you have a specific hair or makeup look in mind, then you are welcome to discuss this before booking.

What products do you use?
I use premium brands such as: Chanel, Dior, By Terry, Armani Beauty, Hourglass, Charlotte Tilbury, Nars Cosmetics, Kevyn Aucoin. As well as other well loved brands that include: Stila, Laura Mercier, It Cosmetics, Mac, Glossier etc. When someone asks me what my favourite makeup brand is, I struggle to not list a few!

Can I book Anna Jones Bridal for a styled or engagement shoot?
Yes! If you are interested in booking for a styled or engagement shoot, then please get in touch for a discussion and bespoke quote.
What can I expect from my trial and how do I prepare for it?
You can expect your trial to last around 2 - 3 hours. We will have a thorough consultation and talk through your desired look. If you have been unsure up until this point, then I will recommend what I think will suit you best, and what could go with your dress. I will keep you in the loop as we go through your trial, and make any notes on the trial afterwards. We will photograph your trial look, to see how it photographs, and at this point, we can then try out some style variations if you wish.
In preparation for your trial, select a few photos of hair and makeup styles that you like. Try to find photos of people that look more like you, and if you have a few styles in mind that are totally different from one another, think about why you chose these and what specifically you liked about each look. I can then draw inspiration from this while creating your personalised wedding day look.
Think about, or bring with you, your favourite lipstick - this may influence the shade of lipstick that you want to top up with on your special day. Please wash your hair the day before, or the day of (and blow dry in specific styling products as detailed in Your Ultimate Bridal Guide). Day before hair generally makes for better styling than freshly washed hair. Please wear a similar colour top to that of your wedding dress - makeup can look completely different against different colours and this will give the best indication of how you will look on your special day. Please come alone to your wedding trial, this way we will get to know each other better and you will get the most out of your trial.
What can I do ahead of my wedding?
At your trial, we will talk through your current skin and hair care routine and whether any improvements can be made. Following any suggestions will ensure your hair and makeup looks its best on your day. If you are going to be having any skincare treatments or specialist facials, it is advised you introduce these 6 months prior, so that your skin can become used to this. It is not advisable to try a new regime or introduce new products closer to your wedding day. If you want to keep things simple, hydration is a must, alongside a gentle exfoliation once a week, and proper cleansing that does not strip your skin.
You can find all the advice you need in my Ultimate Bridal Guide, which you will receive upon booking a wedding package with me.
What can I expect for my wedding day?
I will create a beauty schedule for your wedding day, based on your timings and the time I need to create your wedding day look. We will agree this together well in advance of your day. I will schedule a set up time, and will pick the area with the best natural light. Depending on the size of your bridal party/ and if there are any assistants with me, I will usually start with your bridal party and schedule you second to last. Typically I start with all of the hair, and then all of the makeup. Once you are hair and makeup ready, you will then have time to change into your dresses before any finishing touches can be done. Finishing touches include makeup top ups, any decolletage makeup, hair touch ups and accessories or veil placements.
Our aim is to fit into your wedding day and we are there to support you and take the pressure off achieving your hair and makeup look. I like to keep things relaxed, and fun, but in an organised way.
